Which Type of Boiler Is Right for Your Home?
There are three main types of gas boiler, and the right choice depends on your home's size, water demand, and existing plumbing. EcoHeat will assess your home before recommending anything — here's a quick overview to get you started.
Combi Boiler
The most popular choice for Irish homes. A combi (combination) boiler provides both heating and instant hot water from a single unit — no separate cylinder or cold-water tank needed. Ideal for apartments and smaller homes with one bathroom.
System Boiler
A system boiler works with a separate hot water cylinder and is well suited to larger homes with two or more bathrooms. Because hot water is stored in the cylinder, multiple taps or showers can be run simultaneously without a drop in pressure.
Heat Only Boiler
Also called a regular or conventional boiler, a heat-only boiler works alongside both a hot water cylinder and a cold-water tank in the loft. The best option when upgrading within an older traditional heating system without major re-plumbing.

The Logic System IE boiler is the next evolution of our award-winning Logic range and has been specifically made for Ireland. 7 year warranty as standard. The Logic System IE is ideal for homes with multiple bathrooms and large hot water demand. Available from 15kW up to 30kW, there is a Logic System IE available to homes of any size.
Ideal Logic Max Heat IE
A highly reliable heat-only boiler for homes with a traditional heating system. The Logic Max Heat IE carries a 10-year warranty and includes the Ideal System Filter as standard. Weighing just 22.7kg, it's one of the lightest in its class — making installation quick and clean.
All boilers are supplied, installed, and commissioned by our qualified Gas Safe registered engineers. We'll also pair your new boiler with a smart thermostat on the same visit if required.
